Assigning an item to an unassigned document structure item (Publisher)
This procedure also applies when you want to assign a different item to a document structure item.
Note that when a document structure item has no child roles, you can change the assigned item to any assignable item through the Model Item Type property. When a document structure item does have child roles, you can change the assigned item only to assignable items that are compatible with those child roles.
To assign an item to an unassigned document structure item:
1. From the appropriate pane, locate the assignable item you want to use:
For a model item type or extended model item type, use the Modeler pane.
For a model item, copy the item in Modeler, and then use the Modeler pane (copied items appear in the Clipboard folder).
Note that if you copy a diagram symbol that has an underlying dictionary item, the underlying dictionary item is added to the Clipboard folder.
For a Custom Revision History, Custom Table, Distribution List, External Image, Note or Revision History; use the Publisher pane.
2. Press and hold down the Ctrl key, and then drag the assignable item to the appropriate document structure item.
