SQL Instance level permissions
At the Modeler SQL Instance level you can assign Modeler System Administrators, Modeler Database Administrators and Modeler Application users through Model Explorer. You can synchronize all active directory groups for Modeler databases.
At the instance level in Model Explorer you can:
Manage Modeler System Administrators
Manage Modeler Database Administrators for managing databases
Manage Modeler Application Users (Write access only) to access Modeler data
SQL Instances are managed by SQL Server administrators or Modeler System Administrators.
SQL Server administrators can manage high level instance tasks in Model Explorer, but they cannot access PTC Modeler databases and cannot manage database principals. They can perform the following tasks:
Modeler database migration
Create and restore databases
Manage instance logins
Synchronize changes in Active Directory groups
Modeler System administrators can manage all PTC Modeler databases and logins. They can performs the following tasks
Modeler database migration
Create and restore databases
Manage instance logins
Syncrhonize changes in Active Directory groups
Manage Modeler Database Administrators
Perform database administrator tasks
Act as a Modeler Database Administrator
