Node (UPDM - NAF aliases)
Creation
To create a Node:
From an Architectural Description or Service Description: right-click the Architectural Description or Service Description, point to New, point to NAF, point to Operational, and then click Node.
From a Node or Security Domain: right-click the Node or Security Domain, point to New, point to NAF, and then click Node
Appearance
When shown on a Node owned NOV-2 Operational Node Relationship Description, a Node appears as follows:
To show the owning Node on an NOV-2 Operational Node Relationship Description diagram: right-click the background of the diagram, point to Populate, and then click Owner.
Relationships
The following relationships are of importance to a Node:
UML Generalizations define Node inheritance.
Exhibits relationships link a Node to exhibiting Capability elements.
Implements relationships link the following elements to an implementing Node: Capability Configuration, Organization, Physical Architecture, Post, Resource Artifact, Responsibility, Software and Service Access elements.
Is Capable Of Performing relationships link a Node to Operational Activity and Standard Operational Activity elements that the Node can perform.
Trustline relationships link a Node to trusting and trusted Node and Security Domain elements.
Used as a conveyed classifier for Operational Exchange elements.
