Exporting IDR Files to PDF
To export an IDR file to PDF:
1. Choose File > Export to open the Export dialog box.
2. In the Save as type list, select PDF Files (*.pdf).
3. Click Options to change PDF export preference settings in the PDF Export and PDF Options dialog boxes. (See PDF Export Settings for descriptions.) Click OK to save changes or Cancel to close without saving.
4. Click the Scaling button to open the Scale dialog box and change the size of the exported image in the PDF file relative to the image size in Arbortext IsoDraw. You can change the size by either entering a new Scale value or new Dimensions value; hor(izontal) or ver(tical).
The scaled image aspect ratio is locked to the original. Changing the Scale value changes the Dimensions values, and vice-versa. (For more information, see the Scale topic in Export... in the Arbortext IsoDraw User's Reference.)
5. In the Export dialog box, click Save. The IDR file is exported to PDF.
If the exported PDF file contains a 3D model:
Click on the 2D preview with the Adobe Acrobat Hand tool to activate the 3D model view.
Use Acrobat’s 3D toolbar to manipulate the 3D model view.
PDF and U3D Export Results Overview
When you export Arbortext IsoDraw IDR files to PDF or U3D, your export options and results depend on the following:
The application you are running: Arbortext IsoDraw Foundation or Arbortext IsoDraw CADprocess
The Arbortext IsoDraw mode you are in: 2D or 3D
The IDR file contents: 2D only, 3D only, or 3D+2D
2D IDR files contain 2D data only. Arbortext IsoDraw Foundation can only export 2D IDR files.
3D IDR files contain 3D data and, optionally, 2D data. Arbortext IsoDraw CADprocess files can export both 2D and 3D IDR files.
*
A 3D IDR file in Arbortext IsoDraw CADprocess contains both 2D and 3D data if keep 3D data was selected in the 3D Projection dialog box when the 3D data was converted to a 2D illustration. (See 3D Projection in the Arbortext IsoDraw User's Reference.)
