SECTION terminate action

SECTION cuts a specified part into two (or more) pieces.

Options

The following options are available to section your part.

:PARTS - specifies the parts to be sectioned.
:TYPE - specifies the item type used for sectioning:
- :TOOL_TYPE - specifies that a part, a face part, or a workplane containing the profile will be used for sectioning the part.
- :FACES_TYPE - specifies that a face or a list of faces will be used for sectioning the part.
- :SURFACE_TYPE - specifies that a surface will be used for sectioning the part.
- :PLANE_TYPE - specifies that a plane will be used for sectioning the part.
:TOOL - specifies the part, face part, or workplane containing the profile to be used for sectioning the part.
:KEEP_TOOL - specifies whether or not to keep the tool you used for the sectioning operation. Note that this option can be used only if the TYPE is TOOL_TYPE.
- :YES - keeps the tool.
- :NO - does not keep the tool.
:FACES - specifies the face or list of faces to be used for sectioning the part.
:SURFACE - specifies the surface to be used for sectioning the part.
:PLANE - specifies the plane to be used for sectioning the part.
:KEEP_PROFILE - selects whether to keep the profile(s) on completion of the section. When set to :NO, the workplane is cleared of 2D geometry. This option is available only if the section type is :TOOL and the tool is a profile on a workplane.

When to use

The profile on the specified workplane describes an infinite sheet, obtained by sweeping the profile along the normal of the workplane.

Use this action to slice the specified part into 2 or more pieces using the specified sheet.
