About Comparison Results
The results of an ECAD comparison open in Creo View ECAD Validate. The results are made up of transactions. You can perform these operations on comparison results:
Send by e-mail
Review transactions
Merge with another version of the same IDX file
Edit transactions
You can save the results of a comparison with your review updates as an IDX file. IDX files use the EDMD 2.0 file format by default. To use EDMD 1.2, you must set the option in the Compare-ECAD option in Creo View before performing the comparison.
When you compare two versions of a design file, the results always show changes of the Second Item to the First Item. When you compare different files, such as layout to schematic, there is no relevance to the order.
When you compare selected areas, the transaction summary header includes (Within Compare Areas). You can view the coordinates of the compare areas in the Check Options of the Data Set Summary.

In Creo View ECAD Validate, you cannot open IDX files from release 9.0 or earlier of Creo View ECAD Compare.
You can use an IDX file as a configuration file to compare similar ECAD files in Creo View.
