About Decals
Add decals to parts in 3D figures for enhanced graphical details. For example, you can use decals for product warnings and information labels.
You can add a decal from the Decal Library or use any suitable raster image.

The Decal Library is empty and needs to be populated before it can be used in the add decal workflow.
Managing the Decal Library
You can add, delete, edit and manage categories for decals using the Model - Decals page in the Creo Illustrate Options dialog box.

The library of decals is empty until populated.
To open the Model - Decals page, perform one of the following:
From the Home ribbon:
1. Click Decals > Add Decal. The Decal dialog box opens.
2. In the bottom left of the dialog, click Manage. The Creo Illustrate Options dialog box opens and the Model - Decals options page open on the right.

The Decal Library dialog box does not open until there is at least one decal in the library.
From the File menu:
1. Click File > Options. The Creo Illustrate dialog box opens.
2. Next to Showing, select Illustration.
3. On the left, under Model, select Decals. On the right, the Model -Decals page opens.
To Add a Decal to the Library
1. On the Model - Decals page, click the Add button on the right, the  Select Decal dialog box opens.
2. Select an image file to use as a decal.
3. Click Open. The Library: Add Decal dialog box opens.
4. Enter a name for the decal in the Name field.
5. Optionally, add a description in the Description field.
6. Select a category from Category list or select Manage Categories from the category drop down.
7. Click OK. The decal is added to the library in the selected category.
8. Repeat above steps to add additional decals to the library.
To Edit a Decal in the Library
You can edit the name, description, and category of an existing decal in the library.
1. Select a decal in the library and then click Edit.The Library: Edit Decal dialog box opens.
2. Edit the Name, Description or Category and then click OK.
To Remove a Decal from the Library
Select a decal in the library and then click Delete. The decal is removed from the library.
Organizing Decals in the Library
As well as using categories to organizethe decals library there is a favorites category which is intended for the most commonly used decals. When populated the favorites category always appears as the first category in the decal library dialog.
To Add a Decal to the Favorites Category
The decal appears in both its original category and favorites, as favorites is simply a way to get quick access to regularly used decals.
1. On the  Model - Decals  page, select a decal in the library.
2. Check the Favorite checkbox on the right-hand side. The decal is added to the favorite category.
Managing Categories
You can add, delete, and edit categories using the Manage Categories dialog box.
From the Add Decal dialog box:
Select Manage Categories in the Category menu. The Manage Categories dialog box opens.
From the Models - Decals page of the Creo Illustrate Options dialog box:
Click Manage Categories. The Manage Categories dialog box opens.
To Add a Category to the Library
1. In the Manage Categories dialog box, click Add. The Add Category dialog box opens.
2. Type a name for the new category, then click OK. The new category is added to the list.
3. Click OK. The category is added to the library.
To Edit a Category in the Library
1. In the Manage Categories dialog box, click  Edit. The  Edit Category  dialog box opens.
2. Edit the name for the category, then click OK. The category is updated inthe list.
3. Click OK. The category name is updated in the library.
To Remove a Category from the Library
In the Manage Categories dialog box, select a category in the list and then click Delete. The category is removed from the library.

Only empty categories can be removed.
To Reorder Categories in the Library
1.  In the Manage Categories dialog box, select a category.
2. Use the arrows on the right to move the category up or down in the list.
3. Click OK. The category isreordered in the decal library.
