About Creating and Editing sBOMs
In Creo Illustrate Standard and Professional editions, use Structure Edit mode to create, edit, import, and export the sBOM tree. Click Tools > Edit Structure to switch to Structure Edit mode, and then edit the sBOM tree in any of the following ways:
Drag parts from the eBOM tree onto an sBOM tree node, or add parts to the sBOM tree manually. The parts you drag onto the sBOM tree are linked to their source eBOM parts. The parts you add manually are not linked.
Select all parts in the sBOM that are linked to the currently selected eBOM parts, and vice-versa.
Rename and delete parts in the sBOM tree. Parts that are linked to the eBOM remain linked after you rename them.
Combine child parts or assemblies with their parent assembly.
Combine all child parts in selected parent assembly nodes into a single part.
Trim the eBOM parts not used in the sBOM.
Replace an sBOM part with an eBOM part.
Assemble and edit subassemblies using the Assemble and the Transform tools.
Change the color and set phantom display of selected parts or subassemblies.
*
Editing the sBOM tree in the following ways can change the behavior of existing animations:
Combining parts.
Re-parenting parts (including copy/paste and any form of paste special).
Changing the sBOM location of parent nodes.
To exit Structure Edit mode, click Home > Close Edit.
*
When you exit Edit Structure, your changes are saved to the default sBOM structure, not to the figure view.
Alternatively, you can create or edit an sBOM tree by importing an sBOM XML file into your illustration. For more information, see Importing sBOM XML Files.
