Using GDX > Update a Study
Update a Study
You can update a study that is already uploaded to the cloud.
Consider an example where you have already uploaded a study to the cloud and generated a set of designs based on it. Now, you make some changes in that study in Creo Parametric, and then send it again to the cloud.
You make the following types of change in Creo Parametric:
APPENDING—When you make this type of change and send the study to the cloud, GDX generates additional designs and appends them to the existing set of designs. This type of change takes place when you add or remove materials or design criteria.
FUNDAMENTAL—When you make this type of change and send the study to the cloud, GDX generates a new set of designs. However, it also retains the previous set of designs in the version history. This type of change takes place when you change material properties or make changes in the study definition, such as modification in the geometry, design spaces, constraints and loads, contact, design goals, design constraints, or element size.
*
If you make both types of change at the same time, GDX considers it as the FUNDAMENTAL change and generates a new set of designs.
To Update a Study
You can update a study as follows:
1. In Creo Parametric, make changes in the study.
2. Click Send to Cloud. The Update Study dialog box opens.
3. Click Update. The study is uploaded to the cloud.
The changes in the study appear in the Setup Tree of GDX.
4. In the Setup Tree, select the available design criteria or materials, and click Generate. GDX generates designs based on the type of change.
