To Print a Sheet
1. Click File > Print. The Print dialog box opens.
2. Select the file to print.
3. Select the following Windows options:
Available plotters:
hpgltofile—Use Hewlett-Packard Graphics Language, a set of commands for controlling plotters and printers.
postscripttofile—Use Postscript, a page description language and programming language.
preview—Provides a preview of the file before sending it to the printer.
win—Use the Windows print driver.
Plot output:
Plotter—Outputs the sheet to a plotter.
File—Outputs the sheet to a file.
Plot templates:
Full Sheet—Plots the open sheet.
Current view—Plots the area of the sheet set in the Plot window options.
4. When plotting to a file, type the path to the output file in the Filename box or click File Selector. The Select Plotfile Name dialog box opens. Browse to the output file. Make sure that the output file has a .plt extension.
5. Set the following options:
Number of copies—Sets the number of copies of the sheet to plot.
Paper width—Sets the width of the paper in millimeters on which to plot the sheet.
Paper height—Sets the height or the length in millimeters of the paper on which to plot the sheet.
Plot title—Sets the plot title.
6. Set the sheets to print:
Current sheet—Prints the open design sheet.
All design sheets—Prints all the sheets in the design.
Selected design sheets—Prints the selected design sheets. Click Select. The Select Sheets dialog box opens. Select the sheets to print.
7. Set the following options:
Plot window—Defines the part of the sheet to plot. The default is the full sheet.
Plot scale—Defines a scale factor for the plot. The default is 1.
Curve factor—Controls the maximum distance between the chord approximation and the true curve. The smaller the value, the smoother the curve. The smoothness of the arc depends on the radius of the arc and the current sheet units.
Maximum angle—Defines the maximum angle for a segment.
Minimum angle—Defines the minimum angle for a segment.
B/W only—Prints in black and white.
Enable autoscale—Automatically scales the plot to fit the specified autoscale dimensions. When autoscaling is enabled, the current plot scale is ignored. The title block, margins, and scrubbing area are not affected by the autoscale dimensions.
Enable autorotate—Automatically rotates the plot to  fit the paper.
Rotate plot—Rotates the sheet 90° before plotting. If the rotated sheet does not fit in the specified space, it is plotted without rotation.
Enable optimisation—Rearranges information for each entry to improve plotter performance.
Invert white—Prints white as black.
8. To set plot layout and format parameters, click Advanced Options. The Advanced Plotting Options dialog box opens.
9. Select Include Hidden Layers to print all layers and not only the visible ones.
10. Set the following Layout Options:
Boundary Brackets—Draws boundary brackets at the corners of the plot, outside the margin and the title block, for cutting guidelines.
Margin—Defines a margin around the plot.
Scrubbing Area—Defines a scrubbing area on the plotter paper. Plotter pens can draw here when they are not in use to prevent them from drying up.
Title Block—Defines the title blocks for the plot description, user name, date of submission, and the number of copies. Located below the bottom-left corner of the plot, within the bottom margin.
*
Make sure that the size of the sheet and the title block do not exceed the maximum plotting area.
11. Set the following Format Options:
Proportional Spacing—Defines the proportional spacing of text character symbols in the plotting software. This option does not affect proportional spacing settings in the plotter hardware.
Text Shear—Plots sheared text.
Thickness Simulation—Uses repeated pen strokes to draw a line that is thicker than the actual pen.
12. Enter Optional User Text to display additional text in the sheet title. You can add six additional lines of text.
13. Click Disable to disable the display of optional text on a sheet.
14. Click Apply.
15. Click OK. The Advanced Plotting Options dialog box closes.
16. In the Print dialog box, click Apply.
17. Click OK to print the sheet.
