To Create Interconnect Diagram Connectors
1. Create a new variable group connector artifact.
2. In the Group Properties dialog box:
Clear the Fix member identities check box.
Add the num_of_pins parameter.
3. Create a variable groupshape with the Diagram type set to Block, and then create another groupshape with the Diagram type set to Wiring.
4. Select the Block diagram-type shape and click .
5. Create a variable group with one port.
6. Set port parameters in the Port Properties dialog box:
Type a name (bp) in the Name box and set to Free Format.
Add the Phantom parameter and set the value to true.

Setting the Phantom parameter value to true is crucial to the successful transfer of accurate data to Cabling and Piping.
7. Right-click and choose Deselect All from the shortcut menu.
8. To add a label, click . The Create Label for Group dialog box opens.
9. Click [fn(x)]. The Select a function dialog box opens.
10. Select the Retrieve value of property "Harness" from connected fiber Java function and click OK. The function appears in the Format box of the Create Label for Group dialog box. The label is attached to the pointer.
11. Position the label on the sheet and click to place it. The Create Label for Group dialog box closes.
12. Click Close Sheet.
13. Select the Wiring diagram-type groupshape and click .
14. Create a variable groupshape and use the Catalog Explorer to add a port. The port must be a different port than the one instanced in the Block diagram-type connector.
15. Click Close Sheet.
