About Controlling Layout Feature Updates
When you create a layout feature, you can set it to update when the original layout is updated. Update of the original layout can be changed at any time when you edit the definition of the feature. You can create a layout feature with one of the following update options:
• Automatic Update—Updates the layout feature when the original layout is updated and in session.
• Manual Update—Allows manual update of the layout feature when the original layout is updated and in session. Click the Provide Notification check box for notification when the original layout is in session and was updated.
• No Dependency—Does not update the layout feature.
When you update a layout feature that references a node, it will still reference a node even when the node is converted to a sublayout in the original layout.
