To Set Options for Data Sharing Features and Update Control
1. Click
File >
Options The
Creo Parametric Options dialog box opens.
2. Click Update Control. The Set options for data sharing features and update control page opens.
3. Modify Data Sharing Features creation options:
◦ Layout features update (new_layout_feature_update_state)—Sets the update relative to the source layout for newly created layout features.
▪ Update automatically—Updates the layout feature when the source layout is updated and in session.
▪ Update manually (default)—Allows manual update of the layout feature when the source layout is updated and in session. Click the
Provide outdated notification (
) check box to display the
icon next to the layout feature icon when the source layout is updated and in session.
◦ Copy Geometry features update (new_cg_update_state—Sets the update, relative to the source model, for newly created copy geometry features.
▪ Update automatically (default)—Updates the copy geometry feature when the source model is updated and in session.
▪ Update manually—Allows manual update of the copy geometry feature when the source model is updated and in session. Click the
Provide outdated notification () check box to display the
icon next to the copy geometry feature icon when the source model is updated and in session.
◦ Layout feature – Update children (child_of_layout_backup_update—Sets the default update state for an assembly feature referencing geometry from the layout feature.
▪ Update automatically (default)—Updates the assembly feature when the source layout is modified and in session.
▪ Update manually—Allows updating the assembly feature manually when the source layout is modified and in session. Click the
Provide outdated notification () check box to display the
icon next to the feature icon when the source model is updated and in session.
◦ Layout feature – Update children of Layout model (direct_child_of_layout_update)—Sets the default update for an assembly feature directly referencing the layout model through a layout feature.
▪ Update automatically—Updates the assembly feature when the source layout is modified and in session.
▪ Update manually (default)—Allows updating the assembly feature manually when the source layout is modified and in session. Click the
Provide outdated notification () check box to display the
icon next to the feature icon when the source model is updated and in session.
◦ Copied placement references update (copied_place_refs_update_state)—Sets the default update for newly created placement references of copy features.
▪ Update automatically (default)—Sets newly created placement references to automatic update.
▪ Update manually—Sets newly created placement reference to manual update. Click the
Provide outdated notification () check box to display the
icon next to the placement icon when it is outdated.
▪ No dependency—Sets newly created placement references to no dependency.
◦ Copied feature references update (copied_feat_refs_update_state)—Sets the update for newly created copied feature references.
▪ Update automatically (default)—Sets newly created copied feature references to automatic update.
▪ Update manually—Sets newly created copied feature references to manual update. Click the
Provide outdated notification () check box to display the
icon next to the copied feature icon when it is outdated.
▪ No dependency—Sets newly created copied feature references to no dependency.
◦ Boolean feature update—Sets the update for newly created boolean features when the original models change.
▪ Update automatically (default)—Sets newly created boolean features to automatic update.
▪ Update manually—Sets newly created boolean features s to manual update.
▪ No dependency—Sets newly created boolean features to no dependency.
4. Modify Update Control and Data Sharing Features options:
◦ Retrieve Data Sharing Feature reference model (retrieve_data_sharing_ref_parts)—Sets retrieval of a data sharing feature reference model. This option affects data sharing features set to automatic or manual with notification update.
▪ Yes—Prompts the user to accept each referenced part during the retrieval.
▪ No—Ignores referenced parts in the retrieval.
▪ Ignore Missing—Skips any missing referenced part, sends a message to that effect, and continues the retrieval process.
◦ Allow individual update control for children when updating a layout feature check box (individual_child_update)—Opens the Individual Update Control dialog box.
