Multiple Projects Flow through a Nozzle - Overview
The multiple Projects feature allows the user to perform batch simulations and store projects for different operating conditions (e.g. different flowrates) and different geometrical configurations.
This tutorial simulates flow through a smoothbore nozzle. The following three projects are created:
Project 1: Base Model
Water enters with a volumetric flux of 0.01 m3/s and exits at an outlet gauge pressure of 0 Pa. This is referred to as the base model as shown in the figure below.
1. Outlet pressure = 0 Pa
Outlet Diameter = 0.0254 m
2. Inlet flow rate = 0.01 m3/s
3. Density = 997 kg/m3
Viscosity = 0.000855 Pa-s
Project 2: Parametric Analysis
In this study, the Inlet volumetric flux is changed from 0.01 m3/s to 0.005 m3/s. This is referred to as the parametric analysis as shown in the figure below.
1. Outlet pressure = 0 Pa
Outlet Diameter = 0.0254 m
2. Inlet flow rate = 0.005 m3/s
3. Density = 997 kg/m3
Viscosity = 0.000855 Pa-s
Project 3: Modified Geometry
In this study, the base model geometry is modified with a larger outlet diameter. This is referred to as the modified geometry as shown in the figure below.
1. Outlet pressure = 0 Pa
Outlet Diameter = 0.047625 m
2. Inlet flow rate = 0.01 m3/s
3. Density = 997 kg/m3
Viscosity = 0.000855 Pa-s
