About the Separate Surface Region Feature User Interface
The Separate Surface Region tab consists of commands, tabs, and shortcut menus. Click Model > Split > Separate Surface Region to open the Separate Surface Region tab.
Commands
Selection Method
Manual Selection—Selects contours to separate to a new surface.
Auto-detect—Selects contours to keep in the source surface. All other contours will be separated into a new surface.
References
Surface to separate collector—Displays a surface from which to separate surface regions.
Contours collector—Displays contours to separate to a new surface when Manual Selection is selected.

Surface to separate collector—Displays a surface from which to separate surface regions.
Contours collector—Displays contours to separate to a new surface when Manual Selection is selected.
Contours to keep collector—Displays contours to keep in the source surface when Auto-detect is selected. All other contours will be separated into a new surface.
Options
Create new surface
For each selected contour separately—Creates a separate surface for each selected contour.
For all selected contours together—Creates one single surface for all the selected contours.
Properties
Name box—Sets a name for the feature.
—Displays detailed feature information.
Shortcut Menus
Right-click the graphics window to access shortcut menu commands.
Surface to Separate—Activates the Surface to separate collector.
Contours—Activates the Contours collector for Manual Selection.
Contours to keep—Activates the Contours to keep collector for Auto-detect.
Clear—Clears the active collector.
Manual Selection—Activates Manual Selection contour selection.
Auto-detect—Activates Auto-detect contour selection.
