About the Multibody Tutorials
In Creo Parametric release 7.0.0.0 and later, parts contain one or more bodies. Use these tutorials to become familiar with different ways of working with bodies.
Downloading Parts for the Tutorials
Download the multibody-tutorial-parts.zip folder to your computer and then extract the zip file. This contains the files that you will use in the tutorial exercises.
Working with Creo Parametric
It is assumed that you have a basic understanding of working in Creo Parametric, when following the steps in these tutorials. If you do not have a basic understanding, you may want to take the Creo Parametric Basic Tutorial first.
Each tutorial is divided into exercises to make it easier to follow. It is recommended that you work through the exercises sequentially during one Creo Parametric session.
Taking the Multibody Tutorials
Get up to speed quickly using multibody parts with these tutorials. It is recommended that you take Tutorial 1 first, before you take the other tutorials.
• Tutorial 1: Creating multibody parts—Describes the basic steps for creating new bodies, working with bodies and merging bodies.
• Tutorial 2: Creating Complex Grooves in a Plastic Handle Using Patterned Geometry of a Body—Describes how to easily create a pattern of a body and use Boolean operations to remove material.
• Tutorial 3: Designing a Cooling Cavity Using a Body—Create a cavity as a separate body. Create display states using layers.
• Tutorial 4: Creating a Multimaterial Molded Housing of an Electronic Device—Assign different materials to different bodies in a part. Create different cross-hatch patterns for each material to use in cross sections. Insert a user-defined feature and assign it to a body.
• Tutorial 5: Creating a New Part by Copying Geometry of a Body—Create a new part from a body and control the update of features that change in the original part.
• Tutorial 6: Modifying Crosshatchings of Bodies in a Drawing View—Set a crosshatch pattern for all bodies, modify the pattern for one body, and then copy the pattern from one body to another body.
• Tutorial 7: Displaying Body Information in a Repeat Region Table—Add report symbols to a repeat region table to display part and body information in the table.
