Assigning Materials in Assembly Mode
In an assembly, you can set master materials for individual parts. You can also explicitly assign materials to individual bodies in each part.

In the assembly, you can also perform the following tasks:
To Set a Single Master Material for Different Parts
1. Press Ctrl and select the parts on the Model Tree.
2. Right-click and click Edit Materials. The Assign Material dialog box opens.

The selected parts appear in the Parts box.
3. If the required material is already present in one of the parts, perform the following steps:
a. Click inside the Source model box.
b. On the Model Tree, select the part containing the required material. The materials drop-down list shows the materials in this part.
c. Click the drop-down list and select the material.
d. Click OK. The material is set as the master material for the selected parts.
4. If the required material is not present in any of the parts, perform the following steps:
a. Click Other. The Materials dialog box opens.
b. Browse the Materials in Library list and double-click the material to add. The material is added to the Materials in Model list.
c. Click OK. The Materials dialog box closes.
d. In the Assign Material dialog box, click the drop-down list and select the material.
e. Click OK. The material is set as the master material for the selected parts.
To Assign a Single Material to Bodies in Different Parts

Before you perform the following task, set the configuration option enable_multi_material_model to yes.
1. Press Ctrl and select bodies in different parts on the Model Tree.
2. Right-click and click Edit Materials. The Assign Material dialog box opens.

The selected bodies appear in the Bodies box.
3. If the required material is already present in one of the parts, perform the following steps:
a. Click inside the Source model box.
b. On the Model Tree, select the part containing the required material. The materials drop-down list shows the materials in this part.
c. Click the drop-down list and select the material.
d. Click OK. The material is assigned to the selected bodies.
4. If the required material is not present in any of the parts, perform the following steps:
a. Click Other. The Materials dialog box opens.
b. Browse the Materials in Library list and double-click the material to add. The material is added to the Materials in Model list.
c. Click OK. The Materials dialog box closes.
d. In the Assign Material dialog box, click the drop-down list and select the material.
e. Click OK. The material is assigned to the selected bodies.
