Inserting Drawing Views
Before you can place a view of a 3D model, you must associate the 3D model file with the drawing. This is called adding the model to the drawing.
When you start a new drawing file you are prompted in the New dialog box for a 3D model file to reference. This will be the first model associated with the drawing. Once the drawing is in progress, you can add as many more models as you need to place views for.
If you have several models added to the drawing, you can only work on (place views and show dimensions for, etc.) one model at a time. This model is called the current active model.
Generally, placing a new view is a process of specifying the view type, the properties the particular type can have, and then choosing a location on the sheet for the view. Finally, the view is placed and you set the required orientation for it.
