To Assemble a Dowel Pin Fastener
1. On the Tools tab, select one of the following options in the Intelligent Fastener group:

Assemble on reference
Assemble on reference◦ 
Assemble by mouse click
Assemble by mouse clickThe Select References dialog box opens.
2. Select the references for the dowel pin fastener and click OK. The Dowel Pin Fastener Definition dialog box opens.
3. Define the dowel pin fastener together with the hole settings and click OK.
4. If the position reference belongs to a pattern, set the pattern options in the Additional Options dialog box and click OK.

1. Select the point, axis. or cylindrical surface on which to position reference and click Assemble on reference. The Select References dialog box opens.
Assemble on reference. The Select References dialog box opens.2. Select the Placement Surface of the dowel pin fastener and click OK. The Dowel Pin Fastener Definition dialog box opens.
3. Define the dowel pin fastener together with the hole settings and click OK.
4. If the position reference belongs to a pattern, set the pattern options in the Additional Options dialog box.
