User defined simplified representations in parts are lost during an embed operation. When you embed a part with a user-defined simplified representation, the part is embedded as a copy of the master representation. You cannot create a simplified representation for an embedded part.

Simplified representations of components and substituted components are retrieved in the Master representation, on-demand, when they are embedded or extracted. When the components selected to embed include excluded or legacy representations, and your on-demand settings are set to Disable and do not retrieve the master representation, embedding these components is disabled.
