Electric Field Overview
The objective of this simulation is to analyze the effects of current flow through an e-motor winding, accounting for heat transfer. A specified total current of 250 A is supplied through the busbars, which are maintained at a temperature of 90°C. Heat is conducted through the copper busbars, terminals, and AC-rod body.
The current flows from the copper busbars into the AC-rod body and continues to the copper terminals at the exit, where a boundary condition of 0 V is specified along with a set temperature of 160°CThis setup allows us to observe the behavior of heat dissipation and current distribution within the system. Natural convection flow is induced in the surrounding air domain due to heated solids. So, the surrounding air domain is also included in the simulation to capture the heat transfer due to convection with the environment. The geometry and conditions for this simulation are shown in the figure below.
