To Define a New Welding Process
1. Click > . The Welding tab opens.
2. Click
Process. The
Weld Processes dialog box opens.
3. Click New weld process.
4. Type a name for the process in the Weld process name box, and press ENTER.
5. Type or select values for the other process parameters:
◦ Specification number—Company or industry specification number.
◦ Machine type—Select Manual for a manually-performed process or Automatic for an automated welding process.
◦ Treatment—Weld heat treatment.
◦ Feedrate—Welding material feed rate of the machine’s head across the part.
◦ Max. allowed length—Longest welding material length.
◦ Min. allowed length—Shortest welding material length.
◦ Max. root opening—Largest root opening.
◦ Min. root opening—Smallest root opening.
6. Define additional parameters on the Parameters tab as needed.
7. Click
OK. The welding process appears in the Weld and Joint Tree, represented by
.
To Edit an Existing Welding Process
1. Open the Weld Processes dialog box using one of the following methods:
◦ In the Weld and Joint Tree, right-click a welding process and choose
Edit Definition from the shortcut menu.
◦ Click > , and on the
Welding tab, click
Process.
2. Select the process to edit from the list.
3. Edit as required.
4. Click OK.
