About Welding Processes
A welding process is identified in the Weld and Joint Tree by
. You can streamline the creation of welding designs, ensure design consistency, and save time by defining processes.
Welding processes are defined almost exclusively in the Weld Processes dialog box. Typically, welding processes are defined before you create any welding features. However, you can assign and unassign welding processes at any time in your design.
When you define a welding processes you can:
• Apply company or industry specifications.
• Assign a machine type.
• Indicate a treatment.
• Specify a feed rate.
• Establish acceptable weld length and root opening size.
You can further customize your welding process by assigning optional and user-defined parameters.
Within a welding model, each welding process is defined by its name and parameters. Processes are stored with the model. You can reuse a saved welding process in any welding model.
