About Creating and Editing Walls
Creating Walls
A wall is any section of sheet metal material in your design. You can create two kinds of wall:
Unattached wall—An independent wall that does not need another wall to exist. You can create additional unattached walls in the same body or create them in a new body. The first unattached wall in a body is called a first wall. All sheet metal features of the body depend on this wall. All walls in the same body have the same thickness, walls created in different bodies, that are not linked to the part, can have a different sheet metal thickness.
You can create these types of unattached wall:
Extrude
Planar
Boundary Blend
Revolve
Sweep
Helical Sweep
Swept Blend
Blend
Rotational Blend
Attached wall—Dependent on at least one other wall.
You can create these types of attached wall:
Flat
Flange
Twist
Editing Walls
The Body Options tab is not available when you edit the definition of an existing first wall. For an existing first wall, you cannot redirect to a different body or create a new body.
