Create a Ply View
A ply view is a drawing view that displays a single ply on top of the layup surface in its final shape. You can create one or more ply views in the same sheet of the drawing.
Before you create a ply view, make sure that the Ignore display status of layers in model setting in the Layer Status Control dialog box is selected to Yes or All.
Create a ply view of a ply as follows:
1. Create a new drawing or open an existing drawing. When you create a new drawing, make sure you select the part that contains the parent composite feature of the ply as the model in the New Drawing dialog box.
2. Click Model Views > Ply View.
3. In the Model Tree, select the parent composite feature of the ply to set it as the active model. When the part contains only one composite feature, the feature becomes the active model by default.
4. Select the center for the ply view on the drawing. The Drawing View dialog box opens.
5. Define the view type to select and orient the active ply.
6. Define the view display settings to perform the settings, such as display the active ply in shading, show the background plies, set the color of the background plies, and override the active ply color.
7. Click OK.
Define the View Type
In the Drawing View dialog box, specify the following View Type settings:
1. Select the ply you want to show in the ply view from the Active Ply list.
2. (Optional) Enter a different name for the ply view in the View name box.
3. (Optional) Specify the orientation for the ply view under View orientation box. You can orient the ply view normal to an axis of the rosette. For this, select Normal to Rosette X-Axis, Normal to Rosette Y-Axis, or Normal to Rosette Z-Axis under Model view names.
Define the View Display Settings
In the Drawing View dialog box, define the following View Display settings:
Display the Active Ply in Shading 
To distinguish the active ply from other plies and a design surface, you can display the active ply in shading as follows:
1. In the Display style list, select one of the following:
Wireframe
Hidden
No Hidden
2. Under Colors come from, select The model.
3. Select Display active ply in shading.
4. Click OK.
Show the Background Plies 
Select Show background plies to display the other plies along with the active ply.
Set the colors of the background plies 
Set the colors of the background plies as follows:
1. Select Show background plies to display the other plies along with the active ply.
2. Set the color of background plies in one of the following ways:
Depend on material and orientation—Background plies are displayed with the colors based on their material and orientation.
Uniform color—Background plies are displayed in the same color that is defined in the File > Options > Detailing page.
Override the Color of the Active Ply 
Select Override active ply color to change the color of the active ply by the color specified on File > Options > Detailing page.
