Collaboration Session
In Creo+, a collaboration session is an environment where multiple users can work simultaneously on the same design. In a collaboration session, multiple people can work on a design at the same time and view the changes being made in real-time, without having to create multiple copies of the design or losing out any modifications done by a fellow collaborator to the design. Any parts or components added or modified in the assembly by any collaborator are automatically saved and updated in real time for all collaborators. This helps to quickly discover and resolve any design conflicts.
A collaboration session must be started on each Creo+ instance, and all collaborators must be working in the same collaboration session. To start working in the collaborative environment, create a new session or join an existing one.
*
When working in collaboration, all collaborators must use the same Creo+ build. For example, a validator should not use a validation build to connect to a collaboration session that is in progress using a production build. When a new Creo+ build is released, all collaboration users must upgrade to the new build before collaborating.
Working in a Collaboration Session
In a collaboration session, the changes are saved in real time and automatically synchronized with all the members working in that session.
Consider a case when multiple designers are working in the same Creo+ assembly but on different parts or sub-assemblies. Here, the changes to the various parts of the assembly are updated independently but shared with all members in the collaboration session to ensure that every member has the latest version of the design.
Similarly, consider another case when multiple designers are working on the same Creo+ assembly and attempt to edit the same part. When one user starts modifying the part, the part is locked for editing for other users. The locking of the part helps prevent modification conflicts.
