About Real-Time Collaboration with Creo+
The collaboration capability in Creo+ enables you to collaborate on a design in real-time. Multiple users can work together simultaneously on an assembly, making changes, and viewing live changes done by other users.
Collaboration is designed to integrate changes from multiple users or multiple Creo+ sessions automatically. It ensures that all sessions are up-to-date and provide the latest version of the design to work on. It also supports the creation of branches for exploring design modifications without affecting the main design. When you are ready, you can merge these modifications into the main design. A shared collaboration session gives you access to the shared data.
The collaboration session data is stored on a PTC hosted cloud service and is retained until the collaboration session is deleted. You can access it multiple times.
Supported and Unsupported Model Types and Modules
Supported Model Types
The following model types are supported in collaboration:
Creo Assembly
Design
Interchange
Creo Part
Solid
Composite Design
Sheetmetal
Bulk Item
Some examples of unsupported model types are:
Model types with the extension drw, .sldprt, .sldasm and so on.
Creo models or Unite models with ATB link.
Supported and Unsupported Modules
Only the basic design capabilities are supported in collaboration. Creo+ modules that produce auxiliary files are not supported. A few examples of the unsupported modules include:
Simulate
Creo Ansys
Generative Design Extensions
Analysis features of Creo, such as Excel and Mathcad
Intelligent Fastener (IFX) and Advanced Framework Extension (AFX)
Design Exploration
ECAD
File operations like save a copy or rename when the latest change or version is not active is not supported in collaboration. When working with an assembly having more than one embedded component, collaboration around different embedded components at the same time is not supported.
*
The collaboration commands are not available if an unsupported model is open in a session.
Unsupported Creo+ applications are not available from a collaboration session and vice versa.
In a collaboration session, if one of the sub-models is not supported (for example, mold), then that model does not open.
