Replace a part or assembly
You can replace a part with another part in either one instance or shared instances.
To replace a part or assembly,
1. Click
Part Library and then, in the
Part & Assembly group, click the arrow next to
Substitute.
2. Click
Replace Part/Assy. The
Replace single dialog box opens.
3. Click Target part and select the part or assembly to be replaced.
4. Click Source part and select the source part or assembly.
5. Click Compare to generate a comparison report.
6. Under Positioning, select the Keep source check box to retain the position of the source part or assembly.
7. Select the Keep part names check box to retain the part names.
8. Click
OK
to complete the operation.
To replace shared instances of a part or assembly,
1. Click
Part Library and then, in the
Part & Assembly group, click the arrow next to
Substitute.
2. Click
Replace Shares. The
Replace shared dialog box opens.
3. Click Target part and select the part or assembly to be replaced.
4. Click In Assembly and select the assembly in which the part instances must be replaced.
5. Click Source part and select the source part or assembly.
6. Click Compare to generate a comparison report.
7. Under Positioning, select the Keep source check box to retain the position of the source part or assembly.
8. Select the Keep part names check box to retain the part names.
9. Click
OK to complete the operation.
