Compare parts
You can compare the geometry of two parts and replace a part with the other part in either one instance or shared instances.
1. Click Part Library and then, in the Part & Assembly group, click the arrow next to Compare.
2. Click Compare parts. The Compare parts dialog box opens.
3. Select the two parts for comparison and click OK. A comparison report window opens and a comparison assembly is visible in the Structure Browser.

You can also access this comparison report at any time by clicking Compare > Inq Compare Parts and selecting the comparison assembly.
4. In the comparison report window, select the source part.
5. Set the transparency using the Transparence check box.
6. See the clipped views using the clipping-specific check boxes.
7. Click either Replace Single or Replace Shared.
If you click Replace Single, the Replace single dialog box opens.
a. Select the Keep source check box to retain the position of the source part.
b. Select the Keep part names check box to retain the part names.
c. Select the Delete Comparison Assembly check box to delete the comparison assembly after replacement.
d. Click OK.
If you click Replace Shared, the Replace shared dialog box opens.
a. Click In Assembly and select the assembly in which the part instances must be replaced.
b. Select the Keep source check box to retain the position of the source part.
c. Select the Keep part names check box to retain the part names.
d. Select the Delete Comparison Assembly check box to delete the comparison assembly after replacement.
e. Click OK.
