Position a part
You can move and position the following:
A selected part or assembly
The active part
A part or assembly using a hole pattern
To move a part or an assembly,
1. Click Part Library and then, in the Part & Assembly group, click the arrow next to Positioning.
2. Click Move Part/Assy and select the part or assembly. The Pos. Part dialog box and a preview window open.
3. Click Position.
4. Use the positioning options and the 3D CoPilot to position the part or assembly and click Done. See the Modeling help for details about the positioning options.
5. Click OK to complete the operation.
To move the active part,
1. Click Part Library and then, in the Part & Assembly group, click the arrow next to Positioning.
2. Click Move Act. Part. The Pos. Part dialog box and a preview window open.
3. Click Position.
4. Use the positioning options and the 3D CoPilot to position the part or assembly and click Done. See the Modeling help for details about the positioning options.
5. Click OK to complete the operation.
To position using a hole pattern.
1. Click Part Library and then, in the Part & Assembly group, click the arrow next to Positioning.
2. Click Positioning Hole Pattern. The Positioning Hole Pattern dialog box opens.
3. Under Part Fix, click PatternFace and select a cylindrical surface that belongs to a hole pattern on the fixed part.
4. Under Part/Assy Positioning, click Part/Assy and select a part or assembly to be positioned.
5. Alternatively, click PatternFace and select a cylindrical surface that belongs to a hole pattern on the part.
6. Use the Reverse and Opposite check boxes to change the position.
