Create plastic features
Click Mold Feature and then, in the Plastic Feature group, click Create. The Plastic Feature Browser opens.
Mold Design provides a number of commonly-used plastic features that you can add to your models. The advisor uses rules and defaults (which can be customized) to create the plastic features. You need to enter only the independent values. It is possible to override the calculation rules and change default values. If you violate a rule, Mold Design issues a warning asking you whether to continue or to cancel the action.
The calculation rules, formulae, and default values are contained in a series of LISP customization files in the following directory:
.../personality/sd_customize_x/MoldDesignAdvisor/
where x is your Creo Elements/Direct Modeling version number.
For example, the file md_solid_boss_fncs contains the defaults used when creating simple bosses. You can register different formulae here for calculating the parameters in Mold Design. This file also contains instructions and examples on how to define and register functions to calculate plastic features.
Each dedicated creation menu displays a graphic in which the specifiable parameters are labeled. Use these indicators as a guide when entering or changing variables.
