Search Assistant
The AI Search Assistant is available starting with Codebeamer AI 1.2 and in later versions. It is a semantic search feature designed to help you find semantically similar items, wiki pages, and reviews across Codebeamer projects using natural‑language queries. Unlike traditional keyword search, the AI Search Assistant interprets meaning, context, and user intent to deliver deeper, more relevant search results.
This feature is accessible under the AI Assistant tab in the application’s top navigation. It provides a modern, intuitive user interface with filters, projects, streams or working sets, and item types, located in the left panel and semantically ranked results located in the right panel. It conforms to the Codebeamer access‑control rules—users can only see what they permission to view.
Prerequisites for Using the Search Assistant
You can use the Search Assistant feature only if you are a member of the AI Users group. If you reach the page without proper access rights, an entitlement error appears. Contact your System Administrator for assistance. For more information, see Configure the AI Users Group and Assign Members.
The Search Assistant feature operates on the indexed content. As a result, it is available only when the AI Indexing service is enabled and correctly configured by your System Administrator. For details, see AI Indexing.
If the indexing service is unavailable:
A system error message appears.
Filters dependent on indexing are disabled.
