Configure the Indexing Lifecycle and Indexing Settings
This section explains how Project Administrators can configure project-level AI indexing in Codebeamer. It covers both the indexing lifecycle and the indexing settings used to control which project content is included for AI-powered search. Use these procedures to manage indexed content and ensure relevant trackers, fields, comments, and wiki pages are available to AI Assistants.
Configure the Indexing Lifecycle Settings
To configure the Indexing Lifecycle settings for the current project:
1. Log in to Codebeamer with Project Administrator permissions. Additionally, you must also be a member of the AI Users group to access the AI Indexing settings. For more information, see Configure the AI Users Group and Assign Members.
2. On the Codebeamer homepage, navigate to the AI Configuration tab and select AI Indexing from the drop-down menu. The AI Configuration page opens.
3. In the left pane, under AI Indexing, select Indexing Lifecycle. The Indexing Lifecycle page opens and shows the project’s current indexing status.
4. If the project has not already been added for indexing, the Add option is displayed. Click Add to include the project for indexing.
5. Click Remove, if you want to remove the project from the indexing service.

Configure Indexing Settings for Trackers and Fields
To configure Indexing Settings:
1. Log in to Codebeamer with Project Administrator permissions. Additionally, you must also be a member of the AI Users group to access the AI Indexing settings. For more information, see Configure the AI Users Group and Assign Members.
2. On the Codebeamer homepage, navigate to the AI Configuration tab and select AI Indexing from the drop-down. The AI Configuration page opens.
3. In the left pane, under AI Indexing, select Indexing Settings. The Indexing Settings page opens.
4. Under Trackers and Fields, select the trackers in the left panel to enable the fields of the trackers for indexing. The trackers of the following types are available for indexing:
◦ Bug
◦ Change Request
◦ Configuration Item
◦ Epic
◦ Issue
◦ Release
◦ Requirement
◦ Risk
◦ Task
◦ Test Case
◦ Test Configuration
◦ User Story

Only the tracker types that are supported by the AI indexing engine are available for selection.

Click Enable All Trackers to enable indexing for all indexable fields and comments in all trackers.

If a filter is applied to the tracker list, the Enable All Trackers function applies only to the filtered trackers.

5. On the right, select Comments to enable indexing of item comments.
|

Only comment text is indexed; other attributes, like username and modified date are not searchable.
|
6. Under Indexable Fields, select the fields that you want to include for indexing.
|
|
• Only the following fields are available for indexing:
◦ Supported text and wiki text fields
◦ Text and wiki text columns within table-type fields
• When indexing is enabled for a tracker, the Summary and Description fields are included in indexing by default.

7. Select Enable indexing of Wiki pages to enable indexing of text on the wiki pages.

Only text content on the wiki pages is indexed. Images and attachments are not indexed.

8. Click Save to save the settings.
