Using “Prompt Me” for Matrices
1. In the Equation Editor window, choose Constructs > Matrices > Prompt Me to activate a response panel.
2. Point to the response panel window. Use backspace to delete the suggested choice before typing in your specification.
3. Enter the number of rows and columns for a desired matrix. For example, type 4x5 to produce a 4 row by 5 column matrix.
4. Click on OK to execute (click on Cancel to cancel). The black boxes that appear in the equation represent the individual elements of the matrix.
5. Click on a box to place the marker, then type in the desired character.
Choosing the Operations submenu lets you add or delete rows and columns of an existing matrix.
