Service Diagnostics Support in Arbortext Editor
Arbortext Editor provides support for service diagnostics content. It provides the Symptom Set document type, which can be used to define a set of symptoms that can be associated with service content topics. When service content topics are associated to Symptoms in Windchill Service Information Manager, they can be used to provide diagnostic information for the product. A Symptom Set contains a list of symptoms, and you can optionally add applicability settings to define the Symptoms that are only applicable to specific parts, assemblies, or products.
Symptom Set Document Type
Symptom Set is an XML document type that can be found in the Other category of the New Document dialog box. It contains the following primary tags:
symptom-set — Contains all of the other tags (root element)
symptom-category — A group of symptoms, includes a title and individual symptoms
symptom — An individual symptom
symptom-values — A group of possible manifestations of a symptom
For more information, see Creating a Symptom Set.
Assign Symptom Applicability Dialog Box
The Assign Symptom Applicability dialog box allows you to define applicability settings to be assigned to the symptoms in a Symptom Set.
It launches when you select an element in a Symptom Set document then choose Edit > Assign Symptom Applicability in Arbortext Editor.
For more information, see Assign Symptom Applicability Dialog Box.
