Assign Symptom Applicability Dialog Box
In this dialog box, you can define applicability settings to be assigned to the symptoms in a Symptom Set.
The Assign Symptom Applicability dialog box launches when you select an element in a Symptom Set document then choose Edit > Assign Symptom Applicability in Arbortext Editor.
*
The menu option is available if you have selected a symptom-category, symptom or symptom-value element.
Your Arbortext Editor session must be connected to a Windchill server to add applicability to symptoms. Product hierarchy information is retrieved from the relevant product in the Windchill repository.
For more information, see Connecting to a PTC Server.
Product Hierarchy — displays the product hierarchies from the current Windchill server
You can select single or multiple nodes in a hierarchy, to identify the part, assembly or model for which the symptom is valid.
You can choose any combination of items in a product hierarchy.
*
If you select from multiple products or models, Arbortext Editor will not check that the selections are not related to each other in the hierarchy.
Multiple selections are joined with an AND operator.
Existing settings for the selected element display when you open the dialog box.
Errors are generated if an existing setting is no longer valid, for example if a specified node has been removed from the product hierarchy.
Search — provides the ability to search for a node in the product hierarchy tree structure. The tree will include search results that match the current search string in addition to objects that were previously selected.
Clear — clears the search box.
Clear All — clears all selections
OK — assigns the defined applicability to the effectivity attribute of the selected element
*
The effectivity attribute is hidden by default. You can use the Modify Attributes option to view its value.
Cancel — closes the dialog box without making changes to the effectivity attribute of the selected element
