Inserting Graphic File References
To insert a graphic file reference:
1. Place your cursor in the document where you want to insert a graphic, then choose Insert > Graphic.
If your document type definition only allows one type of graphic tag, the Locate Graphic File to Reference dialog box opens.
If more than one type of graphic tag is valid at the insertion point, the Select a graphic tag dialog box opens. Choose a tag from the list, and click OK. The Locate Graphic File to Reference dialog box opens.
If you are working with DITA topics, use the Resource Manager to browse for, select, and insert your graphic. Refer to Using the Resource Manager for information.
2. Select the graphic file you want to insert from the Locate Graphic File to Reference dialog box, and click Open to insert it in your document.
If you have inserted a PDF graphic (for PDF output with PTC ALD), the first page of the PDF is shown as a default. The value of any attribute for the graphic element that has the View role represents a specific page to be inserted. Refer to Configuring a Graphic Element for further information on how to configure the graphic element’s attribute.
