ThingWorx Navigate View PLM App Extension Overview
The ThingWorx Navigate View PLM App Extension landing page is a ThingWorx mashup available at the following URL: [http or https]://<host>:<port>/Thingworx/Runtime/index.html?mashup=LandingPageAccessAppMashup
Using ThingWorx Navigate tasks
With the ThingWorx Navigate View PLM App Extension tasks, you can quickly and easily view specific information stored in Windchill products. Enter search criteria for the object you want to view. Depending on the settings, the user may see part tasks, document tasks, or both.
Work with Task Collections
Tasks are grouped into related collections, one for parts and one for documents. Switch to other tasks in the collection using the icons available from the details pages. For example, when viewing part properties, you can select the view design files icon and switch to that task:
Use Wildcards in ThingWorx Navigate Searches
When partial matches are enabled for search results, the user can include wildcards to widen the search. Use an asterisk (*) to replace one or more characters at the beginning, middle, and end of the search string. Here are examples where wildcards replace part of the string GOLF_CART:
Leading (*cart)
Trailing (golf*)
Middle (go*rt)
Configure Tasks with Tailoring
For each task, you can customize the available search fields and their function through tailoring. You can also tailor the task functionality as a collection. For example, when you decide the attribute the tasks search for, such as name, number, or both, you can set the option once rather than tailor each task individually. You can set a different set of options for each role. For more information, see Tailor Your Tasks: Using the Collection Tailoring Pages and Tailor Your Tasks: Using the Task Tailoring Pages.
Quickly Download a Group of Drawings
Download Drawing Bundle task allows users to download a zipped file that includes a group of drawings. The user can type or paste a list of part numbers that may include drawings in the input area. In the result area, users can see the drawings that were found among the list of part numbers they typed, and they can download a zipped file that contains all of the drawings they found.
Set the visibility for different roles on using the Common Tailoring For Custom Tasks page.
Understand the View Drawings Task
Users can search in the View Drawing task to get the drawings associated with a part. If there are multiple drawings of a particular type available for a part, the latest one is retrieved. The file formats are retrieved in the order that the business administrator sets on the task’s tailoring page. These are the available formats:
PDF
DXF
PLT
CGM
Extra sign-on to the View & Measure in 3D Task
The View & Measure in 3D task uses the Creo View agent to show interactive 3D thumbnails of your parts. It requires users to complete an additional sign-on.
