About Geometric Tolerances
When you add a geometric tolerance (gtol) to a drawing, you may choose the model in which to place the gtol, or instead create a nonparametric graphical gtol within the drawing itself. However, before you can add a gtol to a drawing, you must have set datums and basic dimensions.
To access the geometric tolerance functionality, click Insert > Geometric Tolerance. The Geom Tol menu displays the following:
Set Datum—Sets a datum to be used as a reference for geometric tolerances.
Basic Dim—Creates basic dimensions.
Inspect Dim—Creates inspection dimensions.
Specify Tol—Creates a geometric tolerance.
Make Target—Sets a datum target.
You can set a reference datum by selecting either Draft or Modify on the Legacy Dwg menu.
