About Clearance and Creepage Files
The clearance and creepage file is a prerequisite if you want to perform clearance or creepage analysis or both between a pair of nets. It is a Microsoft Excel (*.xls, *.xlsx) or a CSV (*.csv) file on the Windows platform and a CSV (*.csv) file on UNIX. You must specify names for all the nets in each one of the following sections:
Clearance—Contains the threshold values of clearance distance for each net pair. During the clearance analysis, if the clearance distance between a net pair is less than the specified threshold value, the violation of the threshold condition occurs.
Creepage—Contains the threshold values of creepage distance for each net pair. During the creepage analysis, if the creepage distance between a net pair is less than the specified threshold value, the violation of the threshold condition occurs.
Groove Width—Contains the groove widths for each net pair.
Your system administrator can create and modify the clearance and creepage files and make them available to all users at a central location.
