To Create Same Behavior Groups
You can streamline modification of steps by designating groups of steps with the same behavior. The steps included in a Same Behavior group use the same cutting tool and manufacturing parameters. Modifying the tool or parameters of the leader of the group propagates the change to all the group members. The leader of a Same Behavior group is the first step in the group and is identified by the step icon
.
1. Select the steps you want to group, using the SHIFT or CTRL key. The steps do not have to be consecutive.
2. In the Process Table menu bar, click Edit > Same Behavior Group > Create New Group. The New Same Behavior Group dialog box opens with a default name, such as SB_GROUP_1, for the new group.
3. Type a different name in the New Name box, if desired.
4. Click OK.
The system assigns the selected steps to the Same Behavior group. The steps are not grouped together in the Process Table, and you can edit them individually. However, if you try to edit the tool or parameters of a step belonging to a Same Behavior group, the system issues an error message that lists the name of the group and the name of the leader step. Similarly, if you try to edit the tool or parameters of a leader step, the system issues a warning that lists the name of the group and says that the change will be propagated to all members of the group.
| You can display the names of the Same Behavior groups for the steps in the Process Table by using the View Builder functionality and adding the Same behavior set name column from the Special Parameters group to your table view. Using this column, you can add or remove steps to and from the Same Behavior groups. |
