About Activating a Component in an Assembly
New features or other model data can be created for a for a subassembly, configurable module, or configurable product in a configurable product. Although you can activate parts and module variants, you cannot modify individual parts in Creo Options Modeler. Select the component from the Model Tree or graphics window, right-click and choose Activate from the shortcut menu. In the Model Tree an active component is indicated by:
—Activated part
—Activated module variant
—Activated subassembly
—Activated configurable module
—Activated sub-configurable product
In an active component you can add or redefine datum features, edit relations, and perform some setup actions. Although you cannot open a part in the Options Modeler, you can activate a part to edit dimensions and perform additional operations. Operations that can be performed on other components in the assembly are limited to Hide, Unhide, and Info. The inactive assembly components become grey and transparent. Set the transparency level using the style_state_transparency configuration option.
After you have modified the component, you must activate the main assembly to continue working.
