About Creo Options Modeler Functionality
Use the Creo Options Modeler to create and manage configurable products, configurable modules, and assemblies. You can combine parts created in Creo Parametric into assemblies, configurable modules, and configurable products. You can modify, analyze, or reorient the resulting assemblies. You can combine non-native parts to create a Multi-CAD assembly, configurable product, or configurable module.
Creo Options Modeler Functions
Creo Options Modeler provides tools to build configurable products, to assign option choices to configurable modules, and to build product variants.
The Creo Options Modeler supports the design and management of configurable products. You can use it for the following tasks:
Create new configurable products
Create and assemble configurable modules
Assemble components created in Creo Parametric
Define options and assign choices
Create or modify variant specifications
Apply variant specifications to create product variants
Assigning Choices
Creating options and choices in a configurable product lets you filter the product structure to easily create different product variants. You can then assign module variants, components, and at times modules to these choices.
Variant Specifications
Variant specifications are used to define the components included in the product variant.
Operations in Creo Options Modeler
In Creo Options Modeler the following features and functions cannot be created, but they can be edited or used when they exist in an assembly.
Data Sharing Features including copy and publish geometry, merge and inheritance features, and shrinkwrap features.
User defined features
Skeleton models
Intersect components
Interchange assemblies cannot be created, but you can open an interchange assembly to save it as a configurable module.
Notebooks declared to an assembly can be used to replace components in the assembly.
Assembly Process Planning
Creo Options Modeler does not support assembly process planning. Process plans from existing assemblies are lost when you save a copy of the assembly in Creo Options Modeler.
