To Measure the Length of an Entity
1. On the Home tab click the arrow next to Measure.
2. Click Length. The Measure: Length toolbar appears.
3. Click on the toolbar to expand the Measure: Length dialog box.
4. Under Setup, select a curve or an edge to measure.
The length of the selected curve or edge is calculated and displayed in the Results area, the measurement panel, or both.
5. To measure the total length of more than one entity, hold down the CTRL key and select additional entities. The total length value is calculated and displayed in the Results area, the combined measurement panel, or both.
6. To handle multiple selections of connected curves or edges as one complex object, perform these actions:
a. Right-click the Options column next to the reference entity and click the Use as Chain check box. The Chain dialog box opens.
b. Select a chain of curves or edges using the Standard or the Rule-based options.
