To Measure the Area of an Entity
1. On the
Home tab click the arrow next to
Measure.
2. Click
Area. The
Measure: Area toolbar appears.
3. Click
on the toolbar to expand the
Measure: Area dialog box.
4. Under Setup select a reference entity. The area is calculated and displayed in the Results area, the measurement panel, or both.
5. To measure the total area of more than one entity, hold down the CTRL key and select the entities. The total area is calculated and displayed.
6. To project the area, click the Projection collector and select a reference plane, surface, axis, edge, curve, or a coordinate system. The projected area and the actual area are calculated and displayed as results.
7. To project the measurement onto a view plane that lies horizontally along your computer screen, click
. The projected area and the actual area are shown. Click
again to activate the
Projection collector.
