To Generate a Mass Property Report Based on Model Geometry and Density
1. Click File > Prepare > Model Properties. The Model Properties dialog box opens.
2. Click change. The Mass Properties dialog box opens. Geometry and Density appears as the default mass property in the Define Properties by area.
3. Select a coordinate system.
4. If the object is a part, type a value in the Density box. If the object is an assembly, the average density is calculated based on the densities of assembly components.
5. Click Generate Report.
6. If the object is an assembly, you are prompted to specify the density of each component part in turn. Type the density values. The mass properties are calculated and displayed in the INFORMATION WINDOW. They are saved in a file objectname.m_p in your working directory.
7. To edit the file, use the Edit commands in the INFORMATION WINDOW.
8. To save the mass properties with a different file name, click File > Save as.
9. Click Close to close the report and return to the Model Properties dialog box.
10. Click OK.
