To Create a Line or a Line Chain
1. On the
Home tab click the arrow next to
Line.
2. Click
Line/Arc Chain.
3. Select a start point. A line segment rubberbands between the start point and the pointer.
4. Click another location to create the line segment and start a new one in the chain. A new line segment rubberbands between this point and the pointer.
|  Use the dimensions mini toolbar to assign explicit values to the line length and position. |
5. To lock one of the dimensions of the entity you are creating, press Enter. Press Tab to switch to the other dimensions.
6. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you create a line chain.
| You can also complete the line chain with the following operations: • Clicking anywhere on preexisting geometry • Selecting another 2D geometry tool |
7. Middle-click or press ESC to exit the tool.
