Guides appear as modeling aids in a session in Creo Direct 2D part mode.

Guides are dynamic lines that indicate a relationship between the pointer location and a referenced geometric entity. Guides are useful references for creating, placing, and manipulating geometry. When creating or modifying geometry, you can select or remove a geometric entity on a 2D sketch as a reference for a guide by pointing to the geometric entity. You can select an end point of a line, midpoint on a straight line, or a curved line as a guide reference.
