About Creating Files
You can start a Creo Direct modeling session either by creating a new part or an assembly file or by opening an existing part or an assembly file. When you create parts and assemblies, files of extensions .prt and .asm are created. You can store these files in your current working directory. You can create a new part or an assembly file during the following design stages:
At the start of a modeling session
When a model is already open in a modeling session
Depending on the size and the accuracy of the part or the assembly you are modeling you can create a part or an assembly from a list of standard templates. You can accept the default template, select another, or set a configuration option to specify the template you want to use.
