Draw and modify bolt circles
A bolt circle connects the center lines of geometrical elements that form a circular pattern. The center lines must be circular, single-slot, or double-slot center lines. You can draw, split, and update bolt circles.
To draw a bolt circle,
1. Click Annotation and then, in the Annotate group, click the arrow next to Cen Line.
2. Click Bolt Circle. The Bolt Circle dialog box opens.
3. In the Mode box, select one of the following:
◦ Cen Lines to create a regular bolt circle.
◦ Cen Lines with Rotation to create a bolt circle with center lines of the circular, single-slot, or double-slot geometrical elements rotated towards the center of the bolt circle.
4. Select three center lines. The Center Lines box displays the number of center lines as you select them.
Creo Elements/Direct Annotation draws the bolt circle connecting the selected center lines.

The bolt circle has its own center line. You can use Rotate by Point or Rotate by Angle to rotate the center line of the bolt circle. See Modify center lines and symmetry lines for more information.
To split a bolt circle,
1. Click Annotation and then, in the Annotate group, click the arrow next to Cen Line.
2. Click Split Bolt Circle.
3. Click the bolt circle.
4. Select two points on the bolt circle to form an arc of the bolt circle.
5. Click the arc to delete it, thus splitting the bolt circle.
To update a bolt circle,
• Click Annotation and then, in the Setup group, click Update View.
When you update views of a drawing or a sheet, or multiple views using Update View, a bolt circle is updated according to the position of the three center lines that you had used to draw the bolt circle. See Update a view for more information about updating a drawing, sheet, or multiple views.

A bolt circle is not updated if you delete any of the geometrical elements containing the center lines in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling, which you had used to draw the bolt circle.
